  Ministry of Missions

The Ministry of Missions is asking you to donate any "gently used household items" that would help foster children who have turned 18 and forced to live on their own get started. Think of what you would need to set up housekeeping in your first apartment.

When a child ages out of the Foster Care program at 18 years they are on their own! They have to furnish their own apartment among other "adult" things they may not be ready for.

Please bring these items to the Church Fellowship Hall until September 1, 2013 and they will be delivered to the Gaston Country Foster Care.

         THANK YOU

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the
work of his hands.  day after day they pour forth speech; night
after night they reveal knowledge.  They have no speech, they
use no words; no sound is heard from them.  yet their voice goes
out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."

ps. 19:1-4  niv.

"IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD. HE WAS WITH GOD IN THE BEGINNING.
THROUGH HIM ALL THINGS WERE MADE; WITHOUT HIM NOTHING WAS
MADE THAT HAS BEEN MADE. IN HIM WAS LIFE AND THAT LIFE WAS THE
LIGHT OF ALL MANKIND. THE LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS, AND THE
DARKNESS HAS NOT OVERCOME IT."  JOHN 1: 1-5  NIV.

"WHAT THEN, SHALL WE SAY IN RESPONSE TO THESE THINGS? IF GOD IS
FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US? HE WHO DID NOT SPARE HIS OWN SON, BUT GAVE HIM UP FOR US ALL--HOW WILL HE NOT ALSO, ALONG WITH HIM, GRACIOUSLY GIVE US ALL THINGS?" ROMANS 8:31-32 NIV

"AFTER THE SABBATH, AT DAWN ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, MARY MAGDALENE AND THE OTHER MARY WENT TO LOOK AT THE TOMB. THERE WAS A VIOLENT EARTHQUAKE, FOR AN ANGEL OF THE LORD CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND, GOING TO THE TOMB, ROLLED BACK THE STONE AND SAT ON IT. HIS APPEARANCE WAS LIKE LIGHTNING, AND HIS CLOTHES WERE WHITE AS SNOW. THE GUARDS WERE SO AFRAID OF HIM THEY SHOOK AND BECAME LIKE DEAD MEN. THE ANGEL SAID TO THE WOMEN. "DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR I KNOW THAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR JESUS, WHO WAS CRUCIFIED. HE IS NOT HERE; HE HAS RISEN, JUST AS HE SAID. COME AND SEE THE PLACE WHERE HE LAY. THEN GO QUICKLY AND TELL HIS DISCIPLES . HE HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD AND IS GOING AHEAD OF YOU INTO GALILEE. THERE YOU WILL SEE HIM. NOW I HAVE TOLD YOU".
MATTHEW 28:1-7 NIV

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: NO PRAYER SHAWL MIN. THIS MONTH

Please join us the THIRD MONDAY of each month at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall to crochet or knit a prayer shawl. We will teach you if you do not know how to crochet or knit. Have you ever had one of those days where you just needed a hug? We've all been there ourselves, and we also have those friends who need a hug more than we do. If you're looking for a special project to make for a friend in need, now is the time to discover the "Prayer Shawl Ministry". A Prayer Shawl is the greatest gift you can give someone who is having a tough time in life or someone who is recovering from a serious surgery or unfortunate illness and they just need a "pick me up".  Let's share God's love.
